This is the story of George and Harold, two fourth grade students at Jerome Horwitz Elementary School, where Mr. Krupp is a cranky principal who does not like their shenanigans. They do some pretty silly gags, but really, they love creating comic books together-George writes and Harold illustrates them. In this first book they turn unwitting and unknowing Principal Krupp into an underwear wearing superhero named Captain Underpants. You’d think this would be great fun (well, it’s funny!), but the boys have to supervise him and make sure he doesn’t get hurt. This is a fun graphic novel with great artwork and a funny storyline that you’ll want to come back to and read the entire series.
