Genre: Fiction

This is the story of Miranda, who is an only child who lives with her mother and father. Miranda’s parents are professionals; mom is a photographer who travels the world to take unique pictures and her father is a lawyer, about to embark on a major case. The summer before Miranda is to start eighth grade, her parents have major projects to work on that will take them away from home. So Miranda is sent to spend the summer with her mother’s ex-best friend and her family in August Isle. Miranda knows that mom spent part of her childhood on August Isle and she’s hoping that spending time there herself will give her some answers. Her mom is distant lately and Miranda feels like she may not love her any more. August Isle ends up being a wonderfully fun place to explore and to face some of those fears that Miranda has always had. But more than that, Miranda will meet some people and find answers to some of her big questions. More than anything, she’ll find herself. Hang on to your seats for a fun ending.

This is a story about family, loss and friendship.

Perfect if you are in 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th grade.
